How MakePay works with Qoyod

The Qoyod connector is designed around existing customer invoices. Your business API key imports those records; an optional payment setting makes eligible open balances payable through MakePay and records a receipt in Qoyod after settlement.

Qoyod’s public API does not return a verified business profile or invoice currency for this workflow. Setup therefore asks you to enter and confirm the business name and accounting currency from Qoyod itself. MakePay preserves that confirmation rather than inferring a currency from an invoice amount.

Before you connect

  • The intended business’s API key, generated in Qoyod General Settings.
  • The business name and accounting currency checked directly in Qoyod.
  • An active receiving or clearing asset account when enabling payment recording; positive amounts with at most two decimal places.

Set up Qoyod with MakePay

  1. 01

    Connect the business key

Open Bookkeeping → Integrations → Qoyod and select Check API key. Enter the business name and accounting currency exactly as confirmed in Qoyod.

  2. 02

    Select the receiving account

Choose an active account that accepts receipts. Enable Accept and record MakePay invoice payments only when that mapping is ready. Invoice import can remain enabled on its own.

  3. 03

    Share from MakePay

Open an eligible imported invoice in the connection panel or main Invoices list and share its MakePay link. The connector does not modify existing Qoyod invoice notes.

  4. 04

    Review the receipt

After confirmed settlement, MakePay records a receipt with a unique reference and verifies its customer, selected account, date, amount and exact invoice allocation. Check the resulting Qoyod ledger entry.

What happens when a customer pays

Live balance before collection

Checkout checks the current invoice status, customer and balance, along with the receiving account. Draft and paid invoices cannot collect another payment. No stablecoin-to-fiat exchange rate or currency conversion is inferred.

Imports that revisit existing invoices

The sync scans invoice IDs and repeats scans to find balance changes. Large businesses import over several batches. A payment request with an uncertain outcome is searched by its stored reference instead of being automatically posted again.

Check these connection limits

  • The API-key binding has no native stable business identifier. A different key creates a separate connection; reconnecting the original key restores its own history.
  • Payment links are shared from MakePay. Automatic insertion into existing Qoyod invoice notes is unavailable.
  • Wallet expense exports, receipt-file uploads and automatic invoice creation are unavailable in this connector.

Setup resources

Follow the detailed connection guide and your software’s own account requirements. Configure merchant settlement before sharing a customer invoice.

Qoyod payment questions

Why must I confirm Qoyod’s currency?

The public API used by this connector does not provide the verified business profile and invoice currency needed for automatic detection. Check and confirm the accounting currency in Qoyod before saving.

Will MakePay edit my Qoyod invoice?

No. Share the imported invoice’s MakePay link from Bookkeeping. The connector records a confirmed payment receipt when enabled but does not replace invoice documents or notes.

What if a receipt request times out?

MakePay checks Qoyod for the stored reference. A verified matching receipt can be recovered. An uncertain result remains in review instead of creating a second receipt.
