Accept crypto payments on Invision Community with MakePay

The MakePay Invision Community gateway is built for communities that sell memberships, digital access, or Commerce invoices and want hosted crypto checkout.

Forum and community payments are different from product-cart checkout. The buyer might be purchasing a renewal, membership, download, or access entitlement. MakePay fits this by integrating at the Commerce gateway layer.

The gateway creates MakePay checkout links from Invision invoices and updates Commerce transaction status after signed webhook events.

Community-specific payment behavior

Communities need payment events to line up with access control. A completed payment can unlock a renewal or entitlement, while failed and expired payments should leave the invoice unpaid.

The MakePay gateway keeps Commerce as the system that decides access and fulfillment while MakePay handles crypto checkout.

Connect MakePay for official community plugins

The admin flow is simple: install the TAR, add MakePay as a Commerce gateway, click Connect MakePay, choose the receiving company, and test a paid invoice.

Administrators can revoke the Invision connected app from MakeCrypto if the community is migrated or disconnected.

Testing Commerce invoices

Test at least one invoice, one failed attempt, and one expired attempt. Review private transaction details so moderators and billing staff know where to find payment evidence.

Keep callback URL and webhook secret values aligned after any domain migration.
