Senior Shopify App Developer
Build the Shopify app path for MakePay merchants.
This role owns the Shopify merchant experience, from app installation and configuration to checkout handoff and operational support. You will make MakePay feel like a natural part of a Shopify merchant's payment stack.
Why this role matters
- Create a Shopify app experience that merchants can trust during checkout setup.
- Improve app lifecycle handling for install, uninstall, configuration, billing, and support cases.
- Help MakePay win commerce merchants who need a credible crypto payment option.
What you will own
- Build Shopify app flows for merchant onboarding, payment configuration, embedded admin UI, and lifecycle events.
- Integrate MakePay APIs with Shopify order, checkout, and merchant state where platform rules allow.
- Prepare app store quality, documentation, support runbooks, and release processes.
What you bring
- Strong experience with Shopify app development, React, Node.js, TypeScript, and platform APIs.
- Understanding of app authentication, webhooks, merchant permissions, and commerce lifecycle events.
- Ability to work through platform constraints and design a practical merchant experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with payment apps, checkout extensions, embedded app UX, or Shopify app review.
- Familiarity with crypto checkout, wallet payments, and settlement concepts.
- Experience supporting merchant-facing SaaS apps after app store launch.
First 90 days
- Map the Shopify merchant setup journey and identify app store readiness gaps.
- Ship a high-confidence setup or lifecycle improvement for Shopify merchants.
- Create test coverage and support notes for the highest-risk Shopify app states.
