Senior DevOps/SRE Engineer
Keep MakePay reliable as payment volume and teams scale.
This role owns reliability, release quality, observability, and incident readiness for the MakePay platform. You will improve how the team deploys, monitors, investigates, and recovers payment-critical systems.
Why this role matters
- Improve confidence in production releases for merchant payment flows.
- Reduce time to detect and resolve payment, webhook, and infrastructure issues.
- Create operational patterns that scale with regional hiring and higher transaction volume.
What you will own
- Improve observability, alerting, deployment workflows, incident response, and production runbooks.
- Partner with backend engineers on retries, queues, logs, metrics, tracing, and operational dashboards.
- Review infrastructure choices for reliability, cost, security, and developer velocity.
What you bring
- Strong SRE or DevOps experience supporting production web, API, or payment systems.
- Comfort with CI/CD, cloud platforms, logs, metrics, secrets, networking, and incident processes.
- A practical approach to reliability that improves systems without slowing product delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience with Vercel, Supabase, serverless functions, Postgres, or monorepo CI.
- Background in fintech, crypto, commerce, or other uptime-sensitive product areas.
- Security and compliance awareness around secrets, access control, and audit trails.
First 90 days
- Improve alerting and runbooks for payment status, webhook delivery, and checkout availability.
- Tighten the release process for MakePay production deployments.
- Create a reliability roadmap for the next phase of product and regional growth.
